I tend to make agile kiting Terran ships (with plenty of railguns, pd autocannons, and torpedos). I inevitably design ships based around tournament rules, or how to efficiently beat the campaign - but in a "just build a ship" setting, I just build to whatever suits my personality to be honest. I tend to sit and observe things first before jumping into them, so my ships tend to resemble that whenever I'm "just building a ship."
I answered "make them fast" in the poll, I never put too much faith in pure armored brawler designs. Designing ships that try to do everything isn't really my style (though I've experimented with that), I like functional and geometry simplicity. My "just for fun" ships are fairly small, use big blocks, and have my usual railgun/pd-autocannon/torpedo setup.
My color scheme is grey and purple, though I've recently been using light grey and cyan a lot.
