Hello Guys!

Today I wanted to talk about the block aspect of modding. As you know, making blocks from scratch is hard work. So, many people will copy blocks from other factions.

To make sure blocks work:
1. change the ID of the blocks
2. MAKE SURE YOU PUT IT ON A SHIP (sandbox mode; activate your mod, input "palette (factionId , e.g 8), move cursor away from the input bar, press 3, start moving blocks. Copy blocks & paste in Editor/Construtor via Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V ,respectively. )

However, making your own blocks from scratch is tiresome but rewarding.
Please ask questions and make anwsers in the replies! :lol:

Ok, My own question:

I have made a charging laser block, however it never shoots a laser beam- there is only an explosion if the beam contacts a part of an enemy ship.

{124, name="XXX", group=20,
features=TURRET|LASER|CHARGING,
shape=CANNON2,
points=500,
durability=0.500,
blurb="XXX",
density=0.150,
fillColor=0xaeaeae, fillColor1=0x2050dd,
lineColor=0x3390eb,
turretSpeed=4.000,
laser={pulsesPerSec=3.000,
pulsesPerBurst=3,
pulseAvailability=1.000,
decay=0.500,
power=500.000,
width=50.00,
damage=10.000,
color=0xee0a0a,
range=3000.000
},
chargeMaxTime=10.000},

This fires apparently nothing, but if it hits a block (i repeat) it has the splash damage effect. I cannot see the laserbeam itself, which is what I really want.

What did I do wrong?

Width seems a little wide, I think you have the wrong color, try color = 0xffee0a0a (ff is for the transparency value)
