Laser fail.

so I just started making a mod. I wanted to add a turret mounted laser. however when I try to test it it wont render. I mean it does damage and everything but there isn't a beam and there are no particles.

blocks.lua segment:
--Lasers
{19, bindingId=5, name="Dagger", features=TURRET|LASER|AUTOFIRE, group=20,
points=16, durability=2.000, blurb="Short, mid damage defensive blade", density=0.150,

Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I don't see anything wrong. Maybe the color's too dark? You could try testing with something lighter.

I just tried that, I changed the color to FF0000(bright red) with no difference.

You miss the alpha channel ^^'
Laser use a AARRGGBB format, with the first two being the "how transparent" the laser is

So I just need to add an extra two numbers/letters? Wow that is much more simple than I thought it would be.
