Not far in as the rest of you.
These are my two ships:

To the left is crazy, a ship that fires so many projectiles in all directions it can nearly 1 hit stations. It does die fast however.
The one to the right is not as damaging, but more manuverable and faster. Dies slower.

Shields aren't OP. 52 of them is not enough to stop more than one shot from my ships. maybe because i have so many guns...

I feel that these pulse generators are very OP, and may need a fire speed/damage nerf. I put 5 on a speedy hull and just spammed a station to death. In another scenario, it was a lv 16 ship. I'm still lv 6.

Yep, there is going to be a bit of rebalancing in the next build :-p.

In the ideal situation each weapon/ship type is super OP agains a certain type of enemy, but not that good against others. Things that are very effective against everything are not good.

For a balance suggestion, lower railgun fire rate, increase price, make it spread if moving.

Then it will not be a "bolt on ten and intagib everything" gun.
