*Updated March 12th*

We are finishing up the last two categories of the tournament on Saturday, March 14th, at 2PM. We are still taking submissions for the Cruiser and Dreadnought categories.

Submit your ships here: http://www.anisopteragames.com/contest/

Here are the categories:

Cruiser - 3000P or less.
Dreadnought - 8000P or less.

We are guessing this won't be the most balanced with all of the factions, but we are curious to see what people come up with and will adjust it for the next one.

Rules will be the same as before, simulated round robin to select finalists, and then single elimination brackets for the finals.

Cool!
Not sure if I'll have time to prepare participants this time around... Are the "anti-cheese" rules still in effect? :P

Yeah we might be tweaking those a bit, but we'll see what happens.

I have new category suggestion to add to the existing ones:

Probe: 250 P or less
Fighter: 500 P or less
Interceptor: 1000 P or less
Corvette: 1500 P or less
Frigate: 2000 P or less
Cruiser: 3000 P or less
Destroyer: 4500 P or less
Battlecruiser: 6500 P or less
Dreadnaught: 8000 P or less

These are optional...
Nullified COR: No amplifier allowed, 1500 P max, F4 only
Nullified FRI: No amplifier allowed, 2000 P max, F4 only
Nullified CRU: No amplifier allowed, 3000 P max, F4 only

Circulatory Mobile Turret Platform: No kind of symmetry allowed other than circulartry, 1000P max. This mean that all the 4 side axis of the ship must be identical...

Superweapons Banned: Only 15 amplifiers are allowed which include the Velocity amplifier limit to 3 only, No Obliterator, No Nukes, and only one-two Gauss Beam, however you can build your ship up to whatever you like at 2000 P (or 2500). F4 and F15 only...

I'd say having a minimal number of categories will likely work out best, the more categories there are the more spread out the submissions are, which will lead to less competition in each category.

Not to mention the stream would have to take longer to fit all the fights in, and Arthur only has so much time to stream.

Yeah that's basically our goal. I'm not saying these will be the only categories forever, and we are worried about how dominant faction 4 will be, but I think we will be erring towards fewer categories with simpler to understand rules.

To compensate we might expand final bracket size or something like that. Basically this is all still an experiment, we want to see what people submit and will tweak rules/categories based on that. I think if we learned anything from the previous tournaments it is that we can't think of everything you guys will come up.

Alright so maybe doing a tournament a few days after release was a bad idea, we were a bit too ambitious.

We're rescheduling to next Saturday at 2 PM PST. Arthur will have the submission page up later today or tomorrow.

Sorry about the late notice, just have a lot on our plates right now with the launch.
