Agreed. Command modules should have some value to them. I think they may currently, but more value would be nice. I also think armor and spikes should have their awarded points decreased to more closely match shields, since they serve a similar purpose and are still prone to splash damage, more so than shields typically are.

All my yes for the surviving P value idea.

Is the command pod point bounty necessary? It seems to me that a few flak cruisers can just counter fighter swarms by way of killing them in huge numbers.

However, I have only played Terran, Farmer, and Crystal to completion. Is there a faction that can't actually build a anti-fighter capital ship?

I understand that fleet battles are relatively new so it's hard to say for certain whether something's overpowered (heck I believe F2 point-defense lasers will defeat a swarm easily), but the command module not giving points can be exploited by just building a ton of swarm ships with barely any attachable parts, thereby winning by sheer amounts of points/ships/running out the timer as opposed to being an effective fleet.

Make it so that the smallest block always costs 1p for every race and every ship.

I personally enjoy the fact armor is free. A chunk of metal slab that sticks on a ship shouldn't have to cost P.

Too much armor can be a deficit anyways.

Agreed. How about this.

Every core that is killed adds a multiplier to the score.
First core is +50%
Second core is +25%
Third core is + 12.5
4th core is + 6.24

etc etc


This would add an interesting balance to the game, but it wouldn't add too much in any particular direction, and would be relatively easy to program.

Wait, so you want people to avoid medium sized fleets and aim for 1 or 600 ships per fleet?

Point system rework is in the beta branch.

The maximum number of points that can be scored against each ship is now equal to that ship's P value. Points are scored by destroying blocks, the point value granted is the maximum of (% health / total health) and (% P destroyed / total P) times total P.

For example, if you destroy 90% of one 500P ship, you get 450 points. If it completely regrows, then you destroy 10%, you get no additional points. If you destroy it completely after regrowth, you get 50 additional points.

As Camo notes, wouldn't armor be broken now since it costs nothing?


What if you got points for killing armor blocks based on their size?
Since they don't have a P cost maybe based on their scale and dimensions?
